Eligibility: All participants must be current USATT or ITTF affiliate members. Unrated entrants will have their initial rating estimated for seeding purposes by the tournament committee. If you have recently purchased a membership but have not received a membership card, you must show proof that you have renewed.
Friday evening practice: The room will be open for setup and practice from 7:30pm-9:55pm Friday.
Check In: The building will open at 10:00am on Saturday. All players MUST check in at the control desk prior to 10:15am to guarantee their participation. Walk-in is ok if spots are available. If there are people waiting to play, and you fail to check in 10:15am your spot will be replaced and you will receive a full refund. If there is no one to replace you, you will not receive your refund.
Play typically begins between 10:30am-11am on Saturday and concludes by 6pm
Entry Deadline: April 4, 2012 This format may be limited to the first 25 paid entrants. Don't wait. Get yours in early.
Refunds granted for those canceling before the deadline. If the tournament is cancelled all money will be refunded includ-ing the USATT fee if desired. Format: The Spring 2012 tournament will be two rounds. Both rounds are round-robin format. Scores will be recorded and results sent to USATT for each match. Each table (4-8 tables) will have from 4-6 players depending on the number of attendees.
-Round One. Each table will have a maximum of five players. Round One will have the top rated players, one on each table. If there are 4 tables the next 4 highest rated will be assigned to tables by lot. Care will be taken to keep players from the same locale (or family) on different tables.
-Round Two will group all players finishing 1st, all players finishing 2nd, etc. Seriatim will be established by won/loss record in matches. Two way ties will be broken by head-to-head results; multiple-way ties will be broken by the tournament commit-tee using in order: matches won/lost ratio, games won/lost ratio, points won/lost ratio, rating differentials or by lot between the tied players.
Equipment: Only USATT approved equipment will be allowed. Stiga Expert Roller tables, tournament nets and 40 mm white or orange Premium Nittaku or DHS Premium 3 Star balls will be provided for play. The floor is wood.
Clothing: The USATT dress code will govern.
Rules: A match will be 3 out of 5 games, 11 points. All USATT regulations apply. Decisions of the tournament committee are final. Play will be on assigned tables only. Warm-up play is limited to 2 minutes.
Second Round Awards: Cash prizes for 1st and 2nd in Group A. Amount depending on number of
participants. Awards for 1st and 2nd in Groups B through F.
Schedule: Round One Start-10:30/11 AM; Round Two Start- about 2:30 PM. Finish about 6 PM Saturday.
